Young Oscar hosts not inspiring

The 83rd Academy Awards hosted yesterday was unique as it experimented with young hosts in the Award ceremony's 80 year old history. James Franco (32) and Anne Hathaway (28) were fielded as hosts as the organisers felt young movie lovers were turning away from the Oscars due to their modern 'online' distractions. Sticking to the theme, Franco and Hathaway blended their talk with an excessive usage of Internet, Facebook and mobile apps lingo. This, movie critics have opined, was killing the original Academy Awards spirit, which has its origins even before the first computer was born.
