One of the hottest names in the entertainment industry Shruti Haasan was last seen on-screen in Suriya's Singam 3 and the star was on a break from movies to spend time writing and producing music. Coming back from the break, Shruti Haasan signed some exciting projects and the most intriguing one is her upcoming Hollywood action drama television series Treadstone. Shruti Haasan is touted to be playing the character of Nira Patel, a trained assassin masking as a waitress in the series.
From a producer of the “Bourne” franchise, Treadstone is an action-packed thriller set amidst the CIA black ops program Operation Treadstone. Treadstone explores the origin story and present-day actions of the infamous covert program that uses behaviour modification protocol to turn recruits into nearly superhuman assassins. The first season of Treadstone follows sleeper agents across the globe as they’re mysteriously “awakened” to resume their deadly missions.
The series is created by Tim Kring, who is also the executive producer alongside Ramin Bahrani, Ben Smith, Jeffrey Weiner, Justin Levy, Bradley Thomas, and Dan Friedkin. Treadstone is to premiere on USA Network in October this year. The official Promo of the show has been released and Shruti Haasan is seen performing in an interesting action sequence.
