The sudden nation-wide lockdown to control the spread of the COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus Pandemic in our country, left many people displaced from their houses. Hundreds of thousands of people, especially migrant workers, tourists and students, were left stranded in various places outside their home towns! With all means of transport being suspended and the State borders being closed, these people were left with no way to return to their natives! However, the Central Government had stated that they would be taking efforts to help stranded people return to their natives, with the help of the Ministry of Railways! These efforts have been underway from May 7th and are ongoing!

Rajdhani special train from Delhi arrives in Chennai

As part of the Government's efforts to help displaced people return home, a special Rajdhani train carrying 800 passengers has arrived at the Chennai Central Station, yesterday night! Most of these passengers are natives of Tamil Nadu, who had been stranded in and around Delhi, for the past two months. All the passengers who arrived on this train would be tested for the COVID-19 Virus and based on the results, would either be shifted to a hostel or sent to their respective districts and asked to follow home quarantine.
