One of the most anticipated films in recent years, the upcoming psychological thriller film, Joker, based on the DC Comics character of the same name is set to hit screens in the US as well as in India on October 4, 2019. Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and directed by The Hangover films fame Todd Phillips, Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, who eventually transitions into the 'Clown Prince Of Gotham' alongside legendary Hollywood actor Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, Marc Maron, Bill Camp, Glenn Fleshler, Shea Whigham, Brett Cullen, Douglas Hodge and Josh Pais in vital roles. With the hype for the film massive ever since the project was officially announced last year, there have sky-high expectations surrounding it with the makers now releasing the much-awaited the final Joker trailer.
Joker is not connected in any way to the ongoing DC Extended Universe films and has been announced to be a standalone venture that will shed light on the iconic DC Comics character, Joker, and is set in the 1980s. In Joker, we see Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck playing a “failed stand-up comedian in 1981” who then “turns to a life of crime and chaos in Gotham City” while gradually “rising up to become a frightening legend”. The Joker teaser released earlier this year in April left fans worldwide wanting for more and the Joker trailer out now sheds more light on Joaquin Phoenix gradually transitioning in to become the infamous and dreaded Gotham City criminal with many claiming already the versatile actor is hot in contention for an Oscar Award next year.
