They say love is in the air and now its time for  chocolate, wines, roses, teddy bears, perfumes, candle light dinner, a long drive along the beach and so on... Saint Valentine's Day, popular known as Valentine's Day is a day on which lovers express their love towards each other by sending gifts and greetings. It was first established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD, and was later deleted from the General Roman Calendar of saints in 1969.

So what is the history behind this day? Saint Valentine, a martyred saint of ancient Rome fell in love with the daughter of a government official. Following which he was hanged publicly on February 14, 2012 for heresy.

Though the day might not be as enjoyable for singles as it is for couples, yet, people all around the world associate the day with promotion of love and peace. Galatta.com wishes all our readers a happy Valentine's day.
