Academy Award-winning actor Brad Pitt has been sued for $100,000 (nearly Rs 73 lakhs) by a Texas-based woman for allegedly cheating her of money, including making false promises of getting married. Kelli Christina has stated that she had met the Hollywood superstar two years ago in regard to raising money for a few charity events after which their "relationship got personal". She went on to state that they had discussed entering wedlock. In response, Brad has denied the allegations saying he had never been in contact with Kelli nor had he ever asked her for any payments. He also stated that he did not authorize anyone on his behalf to make such financial arrangements either.

According to the lawsuit filed by Kelli's counsel, she transferred $40,000 to Brad Pitt over a period of two years after he promised to appear at various fundraiser events. She stated that he didn't turn up for any of the events and had then decided to sue him. She added that his team had then informed her that she had mistaken their "correspondence".

Currently, Brad Pitt is also engaged in a divorce case with his estranged wife, Angelina Jolie. In his statement, he has demanded equal custody of their kids. A report stated "Brad is asking for 50/50 custody to be put in place and stay in place". It further added, "Angelina wants to be fair when it comes to custody. She is very structured with the children. Brad has high hopes [they can] try to make it work because of the importance of co-parenting." Brad Pitt was seen at Angelina Jolie's house a number of times in August, around the time their relationship got strained again. Jolie had requested for the judge who is overseeing the divorce proceedings to be removed after she cited a conflict of interest.

On the professional front, Brad Pitt was seen in Ad Astra and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which fetched him an Oscar Award for Best Supporting Actor and is currently attached to star in the assassin action thriller, Bullet Train, to be directed by Deadpool 2 and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw fame David Leitch.
