The rapid spread of the COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus Pandemic has caused almost all the countries to go into lockdown mode. With all means of travel between countries being suspended, Indian citizens stranded in foreign countries were finding it difficult to return home. However, the Indian Government, after consultation with the Ministry of External Affairs, announced that it would be making plans for stranded Indians to return hom on special unscheduled commercial flights and the Indian Navy's vessels! This mission - called the Vande Bharat Mission, has been in effect from May 7th and already a number of flights and ships carrying Indians from foreign countries, have landed on Indian shores!

Air India to operate special flight from Sweden on June 6th!

Now, a new Press Release from the Government of India states that Air India is all set to operate a special flight from Sweden, on June 6th, as part of the Vande Bharat Mission! The Embassy of India in Stockholm has posted this update, mentioning that the flight would be carrying Indians from Sweden to Mumbai and Delhi. Passengers would have to bear the cost of the flight as well as the 14-day mandatory quarantine on arrival and priority would be given to those with medical conditions, people having a death of a family member, pregnant women, short-term visa holders and senior citizens. Details of more flights would be announced by the Embassy, when they are made available! Stay tuned for updates...
