Vishal's next big film, the tentatively titled Vishal 34, has begun filming on Saturday, July 15, the actor-producer announced on social media. The upcoming film directed by blockbuster filmmaker Hari marks the third occasion the duo is collaborating after their previous smash box office hits Thamirabharani (2007) and Poojai (2014). "Delighted & Pumped up to be part of this ! My 3rd combination with Director Hari. Looking forward to create the same magic as before & making it a special treat for audience worldwide. #Vishal34 - Shoot from today! (sic)", Vishal wrote on Twitter as he announced the commencement of their new out-and-out mass action entertainer film.

Being produced jointly by Karthik Subbaraj and Kaarthekeyen Santhanam's Stone Bench banner in association with Zee Studios, Vishal 34 will have songs and a background score composed by 'Rockstar' Devi Sri Prasad. The film is the hit composer's next big project in Tamil after Suriya's Kanguva, which is currently in production and will be coming out in 10 languages. The Devi Sri Prasad-Hari combo has been a successful association as the duo previously worked together in films Aaru (2005), Singam (2010), Venghai (2011), Singam II (2013), and Saamy Square (2018), and they will once again be looking to hit the bullseye with the songs in Vishal 34.

The buzz for Vishal 34 has been high ever since it was first announced back in April after a formal pooja ceremony was held in Chennai. Both Vishal and Hari share a good rapport and will be coming out firing on all cylinders to deliver an entertainer appealing to audiences across all ages with all the necessary elements for a perfect commercial potboiler. Apart from Vishal 34, Vishal has the highly-anticipated sci-fi mass action entertainer Mark Antony scheduled for a Vinayagar Chathurthi release in September, while he is expected to soon begin taking charge as director for Thupparivaalan 2 in his filmmaking debut.
