Yesterday, the veteran comedian Mayilsamy passed away due to cardiac arrest, leaving the film industry in shock. Many prominent figures in the industry, including actors Vijay Sethupathi and Sathyaraj, expressed their condolences for the late actor. Actor Vijay Sethupathi visited Mayilsamy's home in Saligramam to pay his respects to the actor's body. During a press interaction, he shared that Mayilsamy had invited him over to his house on multiple occasions. However, he was unable to complete his speech as the surroundings were too noisy. He also shared his deep condolences for the late comedian's family.

Actor Sathyaraj Shared his grievances to the press which roughly translates, "I have no idea what to say. We've known each other since 1985. During the Enakkul Oruvan filming, Kamal Haasan himself introduced Mayilsamy to me. He introduced Mayilsamy as a skilled mimicry artist from his native place. Mayilsamy was a die-hard MGR fan. We used to talk at least once a week.." He wept as he spoke to the media about his sorrow. Sathyaraj and Mayilsamy appeared in a number of films together. They most recently appeared in Veetla Vishesham starring RJ Balaji.

Mayilsamy was a renowned figure in the Tamil film industry, having starred in numerous films throughout his career. He began his career as a crowd artist in the film Dhavani Kanavugal and later gained recognition as a character actor and comedian. His talent and dedication won him the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Comedian. He also had a great career as a stand-up comedian, TV host, and theatre artist. He appeared frequently as a judge on Sun TV's Asatha Povathu Yaaru. Some of his notable films include Ghilli, Dhool, Uthama Puthiran, Veeram, Kanchana, and Giri. Recently, he has appeared in movies such as Nenjuku Needhi, Veetla Vishesham, and The Legend.
