Blockbuster Tamil film director Vignesh Shivan recently sat down for a heart-to-heart conversation with National Award-winning Tamil actress Suhasini Maniratnam as part of Galatta Media's new candid interview series, 'Game Changers'. During the interview, the filmmaker opened up on a recent incident when he and his wife-actress Nayanthara visited a temple in Kumbakonam. The couple had taken the Tejas Express train to return to Chennai from Trichy, with the crowd at the railway station thronging them. Photos and videos of Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan making their return journey had gone viral, with the filmmaker now explaining the reason to suddenly take the train back to Chennai.

In Vignesh Shivan's part 2 interview in 'Game Changers with Suhasini Maniratnam', the filmmaker said, "We both took the train. There was only the 9.50 p.m. flight available for our return from Trichy (to Chennai). We figured we'd reach home only at around 12 midnight and our kids would not be sleeping. We left the kids at home since we knew the temple will be too crowded. Taking the children there would not be right since they're 6-month-old babies. Since there was no other go, we decided to board the Tejas Express train at 5 p.m. and a huge crowd turned up to see us. We didn't know what to do. Some are shouting and some are trying to take photos. It's okay. It's all love. But, it was a little tough for the other passengers and we somehow got in the train." He added, "During the train journey, we were playing 'name, place, animal, thing' and 'bingo', and it was a jolly experience after many days. I'm not trying to say this proudly that we're living normal lives, but we're very comfortable being normal. Even now, if we're hungry, there's a hotel called 'Vaira Maaligai', where we'll place an order from them since she likes only parotta and eggs, and she'll be specific about what she wants. We just like to be in that space."
