National Award-winning Tamil filmmaker Vetri Maaran has revealed that filming on his next big film, Vaadivaasal, with Suriya in the lead role, will begin after he completes work on Viduthalai: Part 2. During an interaction with the media at a special event held to distribute health insurance cards to members of the Tamil Nadu Movie Journalists Association in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the blockbuster director opened up about his upcoming projects and said that pre-production works are currently underway on Vaadivaasal while adding that scans of the bull to be featured in the film have been sent to an animatronics team in London.

Speaking about Vaadivaasal, Vetri Maaran told the press, "Vaadivaasal will begin once the work on Viduthalai: Part 2 is completed. Actually, the pre-production work for Vaadivaasal is currently going on. We are working with an animatronics team in London. They are building a life-size robot for the bull. We took scans of the bull that Suriya sir is raising and are recreating a similar one." Expectations have been huge ever since it was revealed that Vetri Maaran and Suriya were joining hands for the film adaptation of Vaadivaasal, which is based on acclaimed Tamil writer C. S. Chellappa's novel of the same name, and is being produced under iconic film producer-distributor Kalaippuli S. Thanu's V Creations banner.

An intense glimpse of Vaadivaasal too was released as a special birthday treat for Suriya's fans last year, which received a thunderous response from fans, with filmmaker Ameer also since then revealed to be a part of the biggie, while National Award-winning music director G. V. Prakash Kumar is composing the film's songs and the background score. A test shoot too was held last year amidst much fanfare and fans now are waiting for Vetri Maaran to complete his current film commitments to kickstart the work on the highly-ambitious project. As for Suriya, the National Award-winning actor is expected to wrap up filming the much-awaited Kanguva under Siva's direction in the months ahead, with plans to bring out the film in theatres in early 2024.
