Vaathi/Sir is one of the recent super-hit films featuring Dhanush and Samyuktha in the lead role. The film was released last month in Tamil and Telugu and was the first bilingual film for iconic actor Dhanush. The film was directed by Telugu, movie director Venky Atluri after delivering hit films like Rang De and Tholi Prema. The movie got positive reviews and saw good box office numbers as it crossed Rs.100 crore in the collection. The film made crosses its 25 days of a successful run in cinemas recently. Dhanush is playing the character named Bala Murugan in the film. Global streaming platform Netflix announced that the film will be released on the platform on March 17. Sun Network bagged the television streaming rights of Vaathi.
As Vaathi is set to be released on Netflix tomorrow, the makers have revealed a deleted scene from the film. The deleted scene has been posted on the official Youtube channel of Sun Tv. The deleted scene is set after the climax of the film and shows a student who gets first rank in JEE exams revealing that he received the first rank in India because of Bala Murugan sir, and placing the old tapes on the podium and then shows a shot of the eyes of an aged Dhanush. The deleted scene would have added more context to the film.
Vaathi was produced by Sithara Entertainment and had Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Samuthirakani, Thotapalli Madhu, Narra Srinivas, Pammi Sai, Hyper Aadhi, Shara, Aadukalam Naren, Ilavarasu, Motta Rajendran, Hareesh Peradi, Praveena in supporting roles. The film had music composed by GV Prakash Kumar and was the latest collaboration of the successful duo of Dhanush and GV Prakash after Asuran. The songs from the film were chart toppers and the video song of Vaa Vaathi was released recently and was an instant hit. The release of the deleted scene was a surprising delight to fans.
