'Thalapathy' Vijay is set to invade cinemas once again in January 2023 when his upcoming film, Varisu, releases worldwide and the expectations for the upcoming family entertainer are massive already. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally under Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations banner and featuring music by Thaman. S, there are now reports doing the rounds that actor Silambarasan TR has sung a song in the film, which is being described to be a power-packed and high-octane mass number, and will also include choreography by 'Rowdy Baby' and 'Arabic Kuthu' fame Jani master. Although a confirmation on the said song is awaited, social media has been abuzz with the news of STR singing in Vijay's Varisu.

Both Vijay and Simbu have carved a niche for themselves by singing songs in their films and for other stars over the years and this latest news has left fans excited, with many expressing their desire for it to turn out to be the truth. Fans will know that Vijay had stepped forward to facilitate the release of Silambarasan's Vaalu in 2015 after the film was mired with various issues and problems. The first single track in Varisu titled 'Ranjithame' featured on Vijay and youth sensation Rashmika Mandanna is already a chart-buster and there has been a lot of talk regarding the second track, which is expected to be released in the first week of December. It is also being stated that 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander has sung a song in Varisu and it now remains to be seen whether their combo is happening in the film. There is also the possibility that Simbu might have sung for Vijay considering he and Thaman previously collaborated in films like Osthe and Eeswaran.

Varisu is one of the biggest films getting ready for release and post-production works have already begun, with blockbuster Tamil production distribution banner 7 Seven Screen Studios bagging the film's Tamil Nadu theatrical rights. The film is also said to be along the lines of Poove Unakkaga (1996) and Thulladha Manamum Thullum (1999) and will see Vijay and Rashmika sharing screen space with an ensemble supporting cast that includes Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Khushbu, Yogi Babu, Jayasudha, Sangeetha Krish, Shaam, Srikanth, Samyuktha Shanmughanathan, D. R. K. Kiran, with SJ Suryah also speculated to be making a special appearance.
