The film's director Vamshi Paidipally watched the Telugu version with his family earlier today in a popular theatre in Hyderabad, Telangana, and has now posted a video of himself and his father sharing an emotional moment together. The heartwarming father-son video has won the hearts of fans, who have been showering their love for Vamshi and his family, while also wishing him for the massive success of Varisu and Vaarasudu.

Vaarasudu like Varisu has opened to a phenomenal audience turnout in theatres in the two Telugu-speaking states and the film has been declared to be a money-spinner box office blockbuster already. Vijay shares screen space with Rashmika Mandanna in the film, which also came out in Hindi under the title Varisu on Friday, January 13, and saw a similar opening in several places across the country. Varisu is yet another feather in the cap for Vijay, who has taken up a light-hearted role after headlining action blockbusters over the last few years.
