The All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam on Thursday, July 13, announced that it will launch the 'Thalapathy Vijay Payilagam' across all 234 assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu honoring late chief minister K. Kamaraj on his birth anniversary on July 15. "On the occasion of Late Chief Minister K. Kamaraj's birth anniversary on July 15, I request all the office-bearers of the Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam to pay their respects by covering his statues with garlands across Tamil Nadu. I also urge you all to provide notebooks, pens, pencils, and other necessary study materials to students in the state. Furthermore, we will be launching the 'Thalapathy Vijay Payilagam' in all 234 assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu to promulgate education to students, who are preparing for their competitive exams," Bussy N. Anand, TVMI General Secretary, said in a statement in an official press release on behalf of actor Vijay.

The study centres being planned to be launched under the 'Thalapathy Vijay Payilagam' in all 234 assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu will be catering to the requirements of rural and government school students. This latest decision by Vijay comes at a time when the actor's fans association had already launched several welfare schemes such as blood donation camps, eye donation camps, and food stalls at discounted prices. The actor had earlier this week also held a two-day meeting session with the office-bearers of the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam in 234 assembly constituencies to review the work undertaken so far, while also holding an honorary event for the Class 10 and Class 12 toppers in the state in June.

On the work front, Vijay recently wrapped up filming his portions for his upcoming film, Leo, being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj under producer S. S. Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studio banner. Announced for a worldwide release on October 19, the action film also stars Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Gautham Menon, Mysskin, Priya Anand, Sandy master, Mathew Thomas, among others in key roles, while the music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Vijay's next after Leo is the tentatively titled Thalapathy 68 to be directed by Venkat Prabhu, which is being produced by AGS Entertainment and will feature music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with the team announcing the film to be coming out as a 2024 theatrical release.
