Actor Anjali has made a name for herself as a powerful talent over the years ever since her Tamil cinema debut in 2007 in the critically-acclaimed film, Kattradhu Thamizh, opposite Jiiva and under filmmaker Ram's direction. Having been a part of South Indian cinema and also appearing in Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages, the actress also gave notable performances in Tamil films like Mankatha, Engaeyum Eppothum, Kalakalappu, Iraivi, Taramani, and Peranbu to name a few, and is now set to be seen next in her landmark 50th film, which had its title and first look unveiled by blockbuster director Venkat Prabhu.

Venkat Prabhu, who is all set to join hands with Tamil superstar Vijay for the recently-announced biggie, the tentatively titled Thalapathy 68, did the honors on Saturday by announcing Anjali's 50th film's title as Eegai, while also wishing the entire team for success with their venture. Last seen in Tamil in 2020 in the Netflix anthology Paava Kadhaigal in the 'Love Panna Uttranum' segment, Anjali will be headlining the upcoming film, which also includes Kashyap Barbhaya, Cooku with Comali star Pugazh, Hari Bunty, Ayali fame Abi Nakshathra, Nishanth Raghu, Chandar R, among others in starring roles under Ashok Velayutham's direction.

The Eegai first look, which was also released by Vijay Sethupathi, Aishwarya Rajesh, Sasikumar, filmmaker Mithran R. Jawahar of Thiruchitrambalam fame, Sengalam web series director S. R. Prabhakaran, and singer and lyricist 'Therukural' Arivu, reveals Anjali standing in the rainfall and staring at a far away distance while being surrounded by umbrellas around her. Touted to be a legal drama, Anjali's 50th film Eegai is jointly being produced by Green Amusement Productions and D3 Production banners and will feature music composed by Dharan Kumar, with the technical team being led by cinematographer Sridhar. G, National Award-winning editor Praveen K. L., and art director Ramalingam, respectively. Anjali, whose last big Tamil theatrical release was the Sasikumar-starrer Naadodigal 2 in early 2020, will be aiming to hit the bullseye with Eegai up next.
