Popular Telugu actor Tharun Kumar's name has been in the news after rumors began circulating about his marriage. There were reports claiming him to soon become a part of the Telugu film industry's 'Mega' family, with the actor on Wednesday, August 2, clearing the air on social media by issuing a clarification. In light of the rumors taking flight surrounding his wedding, Tharun wrote a note Instagram stating, "I've come across a few articles and news about my 'supposed' wedding doing the rounds on social media. I wanted to let you all know that the news is nothing more than a baseless rumour. Rest assured, I'd be more than happy to share such big news. Please refrain from believing or spreading this rumour. Thank you all for your understanding."

Earlier, rumors began doing the rounds stating Tharun was going to become a son-in-law in the 'Mega' family, which includes Chiranjeevi, Allu Aravind, Nagendra Babu, Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan,Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej, Niharika, Allu Sirish, and Panja Vaisshnav Tej. The popular Telugu actor's latest statement will no doubt put an end to the spread of the wrong rumors linking him to soon becoming a part of the 'Mega' family. Although not seen on the big screen since Idi Naa Love Story (2018), Tharun continues to enjoy a huge fan following, with many waiting to witnessing him in action once again.

Tharun garnered immense fame as a child artiste winning the prestigious Nandi Award for Best Child Actor on three occasions. He became a household name among Tamil cinema fans after playing Arjun in ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam's cult classic Anjali (1990), which earned him the National Film Award for Best Child Artist alongside his co-stars Shruti and Shamili, who as well appeared in key roles. After making a transition to lead roles during the 1990s, Tharun appeared alongside Sneha, Kunal, and Hamsavardhan in Punnagai Desam (2002), while also starring as the hero in Enakku 20 Unakku 18 (2003) opposite Trisha and Shriya Saran, which featured chart-topping hit songs composed by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman.
