Leading Tamil actor-producer Suriya's appearance as Rolex in 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan's blockbuster Vikram came as a big surprise during its release in 2022. The character went on to receive a huge response from fans and continues to be celebrated with strong excitement even today. With Vikram completing one year since its release on Saturday, never-before-seen photos of Suriya in preparation for his role as Rolex in the action thriller film were released by the CEO and director of 2D Entertainment and producer Rajsekar Pandian showing the actor analyzing the neck tattoo for his character.
In the first picture, we see Suriya holding a paper with a drawing of a scorpion, while the second image shows him sporting a neck tattoo while rocking a pair of sunglasses. The actor's look, body language, and performance in Vikram became a rage among fans, with the excitement going sky-high after it was revealed that his character Rolex is also connected to Karthi's Kaithi (2019). Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, it came as a big surprise after it was established that the characters in Vikram and Kaithi are part of a bigger story-telling, which has since been labeled as the 'Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe', and a strong likelihood teased where they might meet once again in Kaithi 2.
Produced by Kamal Haasan and R. Mahendran under the Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI) banner and featuring chart-topping songs and a powerful background score composed by Anirudh Ravichander, Vikram saw Kamal Haasan reprising his role as a RAW agent from the 1986 film of the same title, with Vijay Sethupathi playing the antagonist, while Fahadh Faasil appeared in the role of a Commander of a black ops squad. As for Suriya, he is expected to reprise his role as Rolex again possibly in Kaithi 2 once he, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Karthi finish their ongoing film commitments.
