Sreekar Prasad is a national award-winning editor who has worked as an editor in over 900 films. He has worked as an editor with leading filmmakers of India including Mani Ratnam and young directors like Vignesh Shivan and has delivered many blockbuster films. His recent film was Ponniyin Selvan that is to be released in two parts. He recently collaborated with Mani Ratnam for the film Ponniyin Selvan: 2 which is set to release on April 28. The film is based on the epic historical fiction films written by Kalki about the Chola empire.

Ahead of the release of Ponniyin Selvan, the editor Sreekar Prasad gave an exclusive interview to Galatta Media and shared some exciting details about some blockbuster-hit films that he has worked in over the years. When asked about the experimental fantasy film starring 'Thalapathy' Vijay titled Puli. The editor said “Like you said it’s an experimental film. It was an inspiration or something like Willow, an English film. It was like that, It was in that genre, with dwarfs and all. So, that's how it started. Chimbu Devan has worked in a similar film with Vadivelu and somewhere he has done a historical, fantasy film. So that came about. We tried to get that zone into the film. But somehow, it didn’t really work as much as we wanted it to work.”

Puli was a fantasy film that was mounted on a huge budget and starring 'Thalapathy' Vijay as lead that was released in 205. The film had massive stars Sridevi, Kichcha Sundeep, Hansika Motwani, Shruthi Haasan, and Prabhu, in important roles. It was the last film of late actress Sridevi in Tamil. The film received mixed reviews from critics but was praised for its visual effects. The fantasy film has music by Devi Sri Prasad.
