Actor-politician Kamal Haasan and producer Mahendran's Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI) banner in association with Sony Pictures Films India (SPFI) is producing his next film, SK 21, starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role under the direction of Rajkumar Periasamy, who is known for his 2017 venture Rangoon. In that light, the makers on Monday announced that RKFI's 51st production venture has cast leading actress Sai Pallavi as the female lead and will be seen sharing the screen with Sivakarthikeyan for the first time. Below is the announcement:

The upcoming mega project is a monumental one as it will also mark Sony Pictures Films India's foraying into Tamil cinema after the powerhouse studio announced its arrival in grand data-style back in January. Sai Pallavi, who enjoys a massive fan following in South India, is a big addition to SK 21 and it will be interesting to witness her in action with Sivakarthikeyan. Sai Pallavi was last seen in Tamil in the segment 'Oor Iravu' in the anthology film Paava Kadhaigal, is currently awaiting the release of the Telugu period venture Virata Parvam, and was announced earlier in the day to be starring in the lead role in the multilingual Gargi, under Gautham Ramachandran's direction.
