Sivakarthikeyan is a popular actor who has been a part of many hit projects, and his recent film Maaveeran was released last week and became a blockbuster hit. It was directed by Madonne Ashwin, who bagged the National Award for his debut film, Mandela. The director recently gave an exclusive interview to Galatta Media after the release of the film. When asked if he thought there was any logical lapse in the film, the director said he felt many did not think about the logic in the film because they did not reveal how the lead character began hearing the voice. "I think it's each person's perspective", he said and added he did not want to reveal the origin of the voice, which would rise questions of logic.

As the anchor then asked if Maaveeran director made any changes to the ending to keep the main character alive, thinking it should be positive, the director said, "This was the plan when I wrote the film because other than death, even if it makes people think he is giving his life, I thought we needed to give hope for the audience. That was there in my mind. I thought that apart from this, I should give hope to the audience, and It was a conscious decision from my side." The director then added he did not want to kill that character. When asked about a possibility for a Part 2, he said, "There is a possibility for that and It was an interesting character with a good companion up above, and as the combo was interesting, I did not want to kill the character." Maaveeran has an exciting cast, including Aditi Shankar, Mysskin, Saritha, Sunil, Yogi Babu, Monisha, and others, along with actor Sivakarthikeyan. The film was released in theatres on July 14, and the makers of the film, Shanthi Talkies, shared that the film crossed the milestone of Rs. 50 crore in three days after release.
