RRR has been a massive global phenomenon ever since its release on 24 March 2022. The film has been going places and looks like it still is. Literally! First, it dominated the Indian market and box office. After it moved overseas post its OTT release on Netflix, it ended up in United States' top 5 watched movies on Netflix. It was lauded by several people in and outside India including Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson, Gremlins director Joe Dante, Doctor Stranger writer C Robert Cargill, Dune writer Jon Spaihts, Christopher Miller known for 21 Jump Street, and many others.

Now, the success storm is moving to another place and this time, it is moving all the way to the Land of the Rising Sun - Japan. To everyone's surprise, the film has not been released in Japan but that is all about to change and the people of Japan are in for a visual treat and an amazing movie experience. It has been announced that the film will soon be released theatrically in this island country on 21 October 2022. RRR is a fictitious story set in the 1920s and is based on two legendary freedom fighters - Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem. Written and directed by S.S. Rajamouli, this pan-Indian masterpiece boasts an impressive cast consisting of Ram Charan and Jr NTR in lead roles. It also starred Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, Ray Stevenson. The film opened to positive reviews from fans and critics alike both in and outside. According to the OTT giant, the Hindi version of RRR went on to become the most popular Indian film on Netflix around the world.
