Leading Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar died on Friday afternoon after a sudden massive heart attack. His death came as a big shock for the entire nation and people all over the country have been mourning the star actor's unexpected death since then. Puneeth was just 46 years old when he breathed his last. On the morning hours of Friday, Puneeth was active, carrying out his daily morning routine and he had even posted a tweet wishing his brother Shiva Rajkumar for the grand success of the film, Bhajarangi 2. However, in a matter of a few hours, everything turned upside down.

Puneeth's mortal remains was kept at Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru for the film personalities and fans to pay their final respect. Lakhs and lakhs of people from Karnataka thronged the stadium to see their favourite actor for one last time and the entire social media has been filled with posts about the event. The Rajkumar family waited for Puneeth's daughter, Drithi, to arrive from the US and she reached Kanteerava Stadium yesterday (October 30) evening. Having said that, Puneeth Rajkumar was laid to rest, earlier this morning (October 31) with full state honours.

Amidst uncontrollable tears, Puneeth's family, friends, and fans bid goodbye to him. The final rites event took place in the presence of Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, who kissed Puneeth's forehead before the proceedings began. Puneeth's mortal remains was cremated at Kanteerava Studio where the actor's father, Dr Rajkumar and mother Parvathamma were also laid to rest. Puneeth's funeral procession started at 6 AM and the final rites happened around 7.30 AM. Puneeth was cremated with full state honours and CM Basavaraj Bommai handed over the Indian flag to Puneeth's wife, Ashwini.
