Leading singer Shakthisree Gopalan will be making her debut as a music composer with Test starring Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth in the lead roles. Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman shared the announcement poster on Twitter on Thursday and extended his heartfelt wishes to the singer for her next big move in her career. Shakthisree, whose latest song 'Aga Naga' composed by A. R. Rahman in the blockbuster Ponniyin Selvan: 2 continues to stay at the top of the charts and on streaming, and is yet another big hit for the singer. Test will no doubt be a big step ahead for the chart-topping singer and she will be looking to come out all guns blazing as a music director. Here's ARR's post:
Test is a sports-based film and also marks the directorial debut of blockbuster producer S. Sashikanth. The upcoming film revolving around cricket will reportedly be coming out as a pan-Indian venture in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam languages as well. Being produced by Sasikanth and Chakravarthy Ramachandra under the Y Not Studios banner, production on Test is underway and is their 23rd venture after they previously distributed the Tamil version of the 2021 Hindi biopic, 83, which was based on the Kapil Dev-led India national cricket team that won the 1983 Cricket World Cup. Having produced films Thamizh Padam, Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi, Irudhi Suttru, Tamizh Padam 2, Game Over, Aelay, Mandela, Jagame Thandhiram, and Vikram Vedha (Tamil and Hindi), the makers have stated that, "Test is a powerful and poignant story about the triumph of the human spirit and the enduring values of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and perseverance."
A motion poster was released sometime back announcing the launch of Test revealing Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth to be a part of the cricket-based film. It also marks the first time all three stars will be appearing on screen together in the same film. Madhavan and Siddharth previously shared screen space twice in Aayutha Ezhuthu (2004) and Rang De Basanti (2006), and Test will be the first time the duo will be appearing alongside Nayanthara.
