The release date of big-budget sci-fi film Project K, starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan, was announced with a new poster. The film is set to hit the theatres on January 12, 2024. The new poster of the film was shared by the stars of the film and the production house, Vyjayanthi Movies, on social media on Mahashivratri with wishes for the festival. The film is set to be a mammoth-budget bilingual in Hindi and Telugu directed by Mahanati fame Nag Ashwin. The poster shows three characters in futuristic suits aiming their weapons at a massive fallen-hand on the sand on a dystopian backdrop.

The film, which was announced in February 2020, is said to be a dystopian sci-fi action thriller and is another pan-Indian film for Prabhas. Project K being bankrolled by Vyjayanthi Movies, which was behind the recent blockbuster Sita Ramam, and is the first part of the futuristic series planned by the two-films old director Nag Ashwin. The production house ignited curiosity among fans last year by releasing posters on birthdays of Big B and Prabhas. The first look of Deepika Padukone from the film showed the full shot of the actress and reminded movie buffs of the Hollywood film Dune.

In April 2022, it was confirmed that the film is being shot with cutting-edge Arri Alexa technology, making it the first Indian film with a digital motion picture camera. Dulquer Salmaan further sparked excitement among the fans and movie buffs saying he had an opportunity to peep into the sets of the film and assured it will change Indian cinema forever at an event. He also praised Prabhas who was present at the event saying only the Bahubali actor can give wings to dream so big. The film, with an estimated budget of ₹500 crores, has Mickey J Meyer as music composer and cinematography by Dani Sanchez Lopez.
