Producer Archana Kalpathi dropped a surprise late Thursday evening by sharing a photo of herself holding the bound script for her next big film, the tentatively titled Thalapathy 68, starring Vijay in the lead role under Venkat Prabhu's direction. Posting the picture of the film's script on the newly-launched text-based conversation app Threads, she also hinted that a big update about the upcoming biggie might well be on its way after she liked a fan's comment requesting for the same. Although still in its pre-production stages, Thalapathy 68 announced for a grand theatrical release in 2024, has created massive interest among fans and will be Vijay's second outing with Archana Kalpathi's AGS Entertainment banner after their blockbuster Bigil (2019).

Thalapathy 68 is a landmark project for AGS Entertainment and is their 25th film, which the production house revealed back in May is their "biggest film" to date. Archana Kalpathi, who is the creative producer of the film, wished Vijay last month on the occasion of his birthday by sharing a picture of herself with the Tamil superstar taken months after the release of his Master (2021). "Happy Birthday Vijay, Sir 😊 Looking forward to Leo and working with you again for #Thalapathy68. This picture was taken just after Master's release when I met him to thank him for waiting and releasing it in the theatres. That decision gave so many of us in the industry much-needed hope. Will always cherish this picture 😊 (sic)", she wrote on Instagram.

The excitement surrounding Thalapathy 68 is sky-high as it also marks celebrated composer Yuvan Shankar Raja's second time collaborating with Vijay after two decades when they worked together in Pudhiya Geethai (2003). Fans have been waiting for Vijay to team up with Venkat Prabhu and Yuvan Shankar Raja for a long time and Thalapathy 68 is billed to "be an entertainer that will be loved across all audiences". 'Thalapathy' Vijay is currently busy filming the highly-anticipated Leo under Lokesh Kanagaraj's direction. Produced under S. S. Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studio banner, the film featuring music by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander is scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide on October 19.
