Priya Bhavani Shankar's next big film of 2023 is Bommai, which has released in theatres today and sees her sharing screen space with S. J. Suryah for the second time after their 2019 smash hit, Monster. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Radhamohan, who is known for his feel-good breezy and emotional dramas, the romantic thriller has the popular actress playing the role of a clothing store mannequin. With Bommai now out in theatres, Priya Bhavani Shankar recently during an interview with Galatta spoke about S. J. Suryah too being a part of 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 while revealing that she herself didn't know the filmmaker-actor was a part of the film until she heard about it from people at the shooting spot.

Priya Bhavani Shankar, who herself will be seen in a pivotal role in Indian 2 being directed by Shankar, talked about S. J. Suryah's casting and said, "I myself came to know about him being a part of the film during the shooting." She added, "I heard people saying that S. J. Suryah sir is at the shooting spot. I wondered why and then came to know that he was playing one character. I didn't know up until that point that he was going to be there in the film because he wasn't there when we shot the lead portion." Revealing that she knows the whole story of Indian 2, Priya Bhavani Shankar said that she will speak about the film during the time of its release.

Touted to be a political film, Indian 2 being jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies banners and featuring music composed by Anirudh Ravichander is carrying tremendous buzz for multiple reasons and one among them is the massive star cast that also includes Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, late actors Vivek and Manobala, among others making pivotal appearances in key roles. With Priya Bhavani Shankar now revealing that S. J. Suryah too is a part of the upcoming sequel to the blockbuster 1996 film Indian, the excitement is bound to shoot up as fans will be looking to witness him come up with yet another memorable performance.
