Ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan: 1 is all set to invade screens worldwide on September 30 and the excitement for the film is evident as fans have been debating about what they can expect about the big-screen adaptation of legendary Tamil writer Kalki Krishnamurthy's celebrated book of the same name. Produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions banners and featuring music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman, promotions for the upcoming epic historical magnum opus have been in top gear over the past few days and the makers on Thursday, September 15, released a new fun promo showing the Ponniyin Selvan cast getting candid about the film and their experiences.

Ponniyin Selvan stars 'Chiyaan' Vikram as Adita Karikalan, Jayam Ravi as Arunmozhi Varman, Karthi as Vallavaraiyan Vanthiyadevan, Trisha as Ilaiya Piratti Kundavai, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Nandini forming the core cast, while Aishwarya Lekshmi will be seen as Poonguzhali, R. Sarathkumar as Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, Jayaram as Azhwarkadiyan Nambi, Parthiban as Chinna Pazhuvettaraiyar. The new PS: 1 promo is a glimpse of the promotions featuring a majority of the prime cast members, while choreographer Brindha too is seen joining in on the fun. Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan has been the talk of the town after a grand audio and trailer launch event held earlier this month at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. The trailer has been one of the most-watched in recent times and fans continue to decode and speculate how the events will unfold in the film in comparison to the book that has left readers enchanted for more than half a century.
