Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan: 2 is set to be launched in cinemas worldwide in a grand manner on April 28 and the buzz for the epic historical action adventure film directed by Mani Ratnam based on acclaimed Tamil writer Kalki Krishnamurthy's novels of the same title is getting bigger by the day. Produced by Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies, the film featuring music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman has now been announced to be the first South Indian venture coming out in 4DX, which is described to be a state-of-the-art film technology that aims to deliver an immersive cinematic experience appealing to more than one of the senses.

The use of 4DX technology allows on-screen visuals to be integrated with synchronized motion seats and sustainable sound effects like water, wind, fog, snow and more, with the purpose of magnifying the action on the big screen. Lyca Productions has suggested audiences to watch Ponniyin Selvan: 2 in 4DXCinemas and this latest announcement will no doubt come as music to film lovers, who are eagerly waiting for a huge spectacle after witnessing breathtaking visuals and action in the first installment released last year. Releasing as a pan-Indian venture, Ponniyin Selvan: 2 will be coming out in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam languages, including being released on the IMAX format screens. The upcoming film will see several big names from the first venture reprising their roles again starting with 'Chiyaan' Vikram as Aditha Karikalan, followed by Karthi as Vallavaraiyan Vanthiyathevan, Jayam Ravi as Arunmozhi Varman, Trisha as Kundavai, while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is appearing in dual roles as Nandini and Mandakini, followed by Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prakash Raj, R. Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Jayaram, Prabhu, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vikram Prabhu, Lal, Rahman, Kishore, Ashwin Kakumanu, Nizhalgal Ravi, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, Jayachitra, Vidya Subramanian, Mohan Raman, and Riyaz Khan among others appearing in key roles.
