Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan and actor Sai Dharam Tej have begun filming the tentatively titled PKSDT on Wednesday, February 22. The upcoming film being directed by National Award-winning Tamil actor-filmmaker Samuthiranakani is an official remake of his Vinodhaya Sitham, which premiered directly on OTT on ZEE5 in 2021, and garnered critical acclaim. Being produced by People Media Factory in association with Zee Studios, photos from the PKSDT sets have now been released on social media showing Pawan Kalyan, Sai Dharam Tej, and Samuthirakani preparing for a scene, while blockbuster Telugu filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas, who is the writer of the film, too made an appearance to wish the team the best for the journey ahead.
There has been quite a lot of buzz surrounding PKSDT ever since the film was announced as it marks the first time ever that Pawan Kalyan will be sharing screen space with his nephew Sai Dharam Tej and both of them will be seen in lead roles. The duo will be playing the roles portrayed by Samuthirakani and National Award-winning veteran actor Thambi Ramaiah in Vinodhaya Sitham. While Samuthirakani appeared as the God of Time in the fantasy comedy drama film in Tamil, Thambi Ramaiah played the role of an assistant general manager in a multi-national corporation, and it will be interesting to witness Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej taking on the mantle this time around for the Telugu remake.
Apart from Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej, PKSDT also stars Ketika Sharma and Priya Prakash Varrier as the female leads, while Trivikram Srinivas is the writer and chart-buster composer S. Thaman is in charge of the film's music. The upcoming venture is one among the several high-profile ventures Pawan Kalyan is currently shooting that also includes the period action adventure film Hari Hara Veera Mallu, followed by Ustaad Bhagat Singh, which is speculated to be a remake of 'Thalapathy' Vijay's blockbuster, Theri, and the recently-announced OG under Saaho fame Sujeeth's direction. PKSDT is also Sai Dharam Tej's third film after he got severely injured in a bike accident in September 2021 that left him hospitalized for nearly a month.
