Already a father to sons, Weston and Kal-El, the Hollywood superstar confirmed his wife's pregnancy earlier this year in January and has now become a parent for the third time with his newborn child. Cage's representatives confirmed the news of Shibata welcoming their baby girl, with People quoting in their report, "Nicolas and Riko are happy to announce the birth of their daughter. Mother and daughter are doing fine."

After confirming the gender of his baby during a talk show appearance, the name of Nicolas Cage and his wife Riko Shibata's daughter has now been revealed as August Francesca Coppola Cage. During the promotions of his recently-released film The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, the actor said on The Kelly Clarkson show, "I'm gonna announce some big news for everyone. am gonna have a little girl." Cage, in another interview, expressed his excitement at becoming a father once again as his sons Weston and Kal-El are now grown up, and are 31 and 16, respectively.

Nicolas Cage tied the knot with Riko Shibata at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas in an intimate wedding ceremony on February 16, 2021. He was previously married to actress Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2001, singer Lisa Marie Presley from 2002 to 2004, and actress Alice Kim from 2004 to 2016. The actor was also married to professional makeup artist Erika Koike for four days.
