SS Rajamouli's RRR continues to take the world by storm and has now made history at the Golden Globes 2023 by winning the Best Original Song. The smash global hit 'Naatu Naatu', which has made fans everywhere shake a leg and tape their feet, earned composer MM Keeravani his first-ever Golden Globe award along with Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj. Incidentally, 'Naatu Naatu' picturized on Ram Charan and Jr. NTR to the choreography of Prem Rakshit, is also the first ever Asian track to win the Best Original Song at the Golden Globes, and no doubt team RRR is on cloud nine and one step away from a big victory at the 95th Academy Awards.

'Naatu Naatu' from RRR was pitted alongside other nominees in the category that included Taylor Swift's 'Carolina' from Where The Crawdads Sing, 'Ciao Papa' from Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio, Lady Gaga's 'Hold My Hand' from Top Gun: Maverick and 'Lift Me Up' from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. RRR team's Golden Globe-winning moment has been captured on video and also shows MM Keeravani, filmmaker SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan, and Jr. NTR in absolute joy and celebrating their big triumph. RRR's official Twitter page has shared the prize-winning moment with the caption: "And, the Golden Globe Award For Best Original Song Goes To Naatu Naatu #GoldenGlobes #GoldenGlobes2023 #RRRMovie."

The evening at Golden Globes 2023 also saw MM Keeravani take the stage and describe his feelings during his acceptance speech saying the occasion was an "overwhelming moment" while adding that he is happy to receive the grand honor in front of his wife MM Srivalli. The veteran Telugu composer said, "It's been an age-old practice to say that this award actually belongs to someone else. So, I was planning to not say those words when I get an award like this, but I'm sorry to say I'm going to repeat the tradition because I mean my words." MM Keeravani also went on to express his gratitude to director SS Rajamouli and RRR actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR, and showered his praise on the team behind the song, including the lyricists, co-composers, programmers, and scene animators.

Apart from the 'Best Original Song' category, RRR, which has collected Rs. 1200 crore globally, also competed for the 'Best Non-English Language' film award at the Golden Globes but missed out on the accolade to the Argentinian courtroom drama, Argentina, 1985. Some other films that were featured in the list include All Quiet on the Western Front (Germany), Close (Belgium), and Decision to Leave (South Korea). Produced by DVV Entertainment, the period action drama RRR featured Ram Charan in the role of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Jr. NTR as Komaram Bheem, with Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Samuthirakani, Shriya Saran among others cast in supporting roles, and is now in consideration in several categories at the Oscars 2023.
