D Imman is one of the leading music directors who has predominantly worked in Tamil Cinema and has also done few projects in Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi films. The award-winning director made his debut with the 'Thalapathy' Vijay film Tamizhan and has done multiple projects since. Last Year, he was a part of seven projects and won the National Award for Best Music Director for 'Thala' Ajith’s Viswasam Movie in 2021. He has also sung some peppy numbers in many films and a few songs in the composition of other music directors.
The busy music director D Imman has been involved in various philanthropic and charitable activities through D. Imman Education Trust. In a recent interview by Galatta Media, The music director helped the wife and children of late actor Pawnraj, who is known for being a supporting actor in Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and Rajini Murugan. The actor died in 2021 due to a heart attack. His wife and two children are left behind in a sad state as she couldn’t find any source of income to feed two small children. The music director brought her a wet grinder through his trust. With the grinder, she can start supplying Dosa and Idly batter in her locality which will help the family get back on their foot.
Wife of actor Pawnraj thanked the director and said “in the one and half years of her husband’s death, I became a nobody and I couldn’t even get a bottle of milk for her kids". She was wailing that she misses her husband and said there were many challenges she faced after his death and Pawnraj was a very loving father who had many dreams for his kids. When the host asked how happy she was that she got the things from the music director. She said "I am very happy and nobody took care of us this way and it's like I have been given a new life". Music director D Imman said that He have provided is just a tool for a start-up and that she must flourish into a businesswoman with prayers and wishes. when asked about how he manages his philanthropic work and music composing. D Imman said he sets aside a day in a week for this work or manages it with someone, "but one can only know the reality form the field and I feel this is the purpose of living”, said the director.
