In the interview with Galatta, Mayilsamy's son Arumainayagam expressed his deep sorrow and pain at the untimely demise of his father at the young age of 57. He spoke about his father's generous heart, which can be roughly translated as, "His sleep schedule was not good. He used to sleep for only 5 hours on many days. If he went to bed after finishing a shoot at 1 o'clock, he would wake up at 6 o'clock. He was always restless. Although we urged him to take a rest, he always refused, saying that he had made promises to a temple or someone to help with something. He used to overthink a lot. He was always true to his word and never broke a promise. He always went beyond his limits to help people. My mom used to ask him why he always went beyond his limits, and he always replied, if we make a promise, we must keep it."

He further said, "As a father, he was great to me. He always made sure to check up on me, no matter where he was. Even during shoots, he would call to inquire whether we had eaten and were feeling well. I miss that so much now. He was very active and on days when he did not have shoots, he would wake up early in the morning, go for a walk, and check on everyone in and around the street. He was very friendly with everyone he met."

When asked about his father's last wish, Arumainayagam shared, "He used to talk to Rajini sir about temples. Whenever he visited a temple, he would also pray for Rajini sir. Even in his last moments, he asked me to make a call to Rajini sir. But unfortunately, due to the noisy environment in the temple and other reasons, we were unable to make the call, and my father changed his mind and said he would talk later." This reveals Mayilsamy's deep connection to both Rajinikanth and his faith, which remained important to him until the end of his life.
