Director Mari Selvaraj is a busy man these days as he is shuffling between two big projects, Maamannan and Vaazhai, which will be coming out this year. The acclaimed filmmaker, who stunned audiences with his directorial debut, Pariyerum Perumal, in 2018, and the Dhanush-starrer Karnan, in 2020, is one of the most sought-after names in Tamil cinema at present and a lot is being talked about his upcoming ventures. In that light, blockbuster Tamil music director Santhosh Narayanan on Tuesday, March 7, shared his first review of Mari Selvaraj's Vaazhai while conveying his birthday wishes to the hit director on Twitter.

Expressing his happiness on the joyous occasion of Mari Selvaraj's birthday, Santhosh Narayanan revealed that he was blown away after watching the filmmaker's Vaazhai, while informing fans that a big treat is coming their way. He tweeted, "Happy birthday chella kutty @mari_selvaraj ! Totally stunned by #Vaazhai. Brace yourselves for the movie of a lifetime 🥳🥳🥳. Keep inspiring us with your magic 🤗🤗". Vaazhai, which began rolling in November 2022, is a children's film set in locales around Tirunelveli and stars Kalaiyarasan, Nikhila Vimal, Dhivya Duraisamy, and Priyanka, among others in key roles, with the music composed by Santhosh Narayanan and cinematography handled by Theni Eswar.

Vaazhai produced under the Navvi Studios banner is expected to be coming out on the Disney+ Hotstar streaming platform, with the release date yet to be announced. As for Mari Selvaraj's other projects, his Maamannan currently in the post-production stages stars Udhayanidhi Stalin, 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu, Keerthy Suresh, Fahadh Faasil among others, while the music is being composed by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman. Mari Selvaraj will also be making a film centered around the sport of Kabbadi, with Dhruv Vikram in the lead role, after the project was first announced in early 2021 by Pa. Ranjith's Neelam Productions banner.
