R. Rahman's music, while also opening up about their collaboration.

Speaking about A. R. Rahman's music in Maamannan, Mari Selvaraj stated, "It has been my long-time wish to work with him like everyone else and I got that opportunity in this film. I'm very happy because Rahman sir understood my film, my politics, and supported and traveled with me." He further went on to reveal that he was scared at first to work with the Oscar winner and said, "I was initially afraid how he would understand and receive all this, but he moved in a friendly manner. I definitely want to continue traveling with him."

Maamannan is one of the most-awaited films for A. R. Rahman fans as it sees the composer returning to doing a rural backdrop film once again after quite sometime and there is plenty of anticipation for his work considering he has been in top form of late, especially after the spectacular response to the Ponniyin Selvan films. With A. R. Rahman leading on the musical front, the Mari Selvaraj directorial will see Udhayanidhi Stalin and Keerthy Suresh headlining the film, while 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu and Malayalam superstar Fahadh Faasil will be seen in vital roles. Produced under the Red Giant Movies banner, the buzz surrounding Maamannan has been huge ever since it went on floors, with expectations high among fans to witness yet another memorable and thought-provoking film from Mari Selvaraj.
