Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan is set for its grand theatrical release on September 30 and we are just a week away from witnessing the film on the big screen. The film which carries a huge amount of expectations is expected to take a humongous opening at the box office, considering the widespread hype. The makers have been actively promoting the film across various platforms and are currently on a tour across the country. Meanwhile, a brand new promo teaser of Ponniyin Selvan has now been released and this promo introduces us to the Pandyas, the main antagonists of the film.
Aadukalam Kishore plays Ravi Dasan, the head of the crew that avenges to kill Aditha Karikalan and destroy the Chola dynasty. Aditha Karikalan kills Veera Pandiyan, the King of the Pandyas, after defeating them in the war, and as a result, the Pandyas want to avenge the death of their King by killing Aditha Karikalan and destroying the entire Royal family. Kishore plays Ravi Dasan, while Riyaz Khan and Arjun Chidambaram would be seen playing Soman Sambavan and Varagunan respectively. Vinay plays Devaralan. The Pandyas are the main antagonists of the film that will lock horns against our heroes - Aditha Karikalan, Vanthiya Thevan, and Arun Mozhi Varman, along with the backing of Nandini, played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
This short promo teaser backed by Kamal Haasan's voice over looks solid and has some exciting new visuals. Interestingly, it also piques one's curiosity to watch the film. Ponniyin Selvan has been made into two parts and the first part will be out on September 30. The second part is expected to release in May or June 2023. Produced by Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies, the film has music composed by A.R.Rahman and features Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles.
