On the night hours of Saturday, January 8, Telugu actor and producer G Ramesh Babu passed away due to liver problems and he was 56 when he breathed his last. Ramesh Babu is the son of legendary actor Krishna and the elder brother of Telugu Super Star Mahesh Babu. Ramesh Babu's funeral event took place this morning (January 9) at Hyderabad in the presence of the family members. However, Mahesh Babu was not able to attend the event as he recently tested positive for the Covid-19 virus. Mahesh Babu is currently on isolation at his home. It is unfortunate that the star actor could not see his dear brother for one last time.

Mahesh Babu mourned his brother's demise through a heartfelt statement that he posted on his official Twitter page. Mahesh Babu recalled how his brother shaped up his life and made him a better person in life. Mahesh Babu's official statement about his brother read, "You have been my inspiration. You have been my strength. You have been my courage. You have been my everything. If not for you, I would not have been half the man I am today. Thank you for everything you've done for me. Now just rest... rest... In this life and if at all I have another, you'll always be my 'Annaya'. Love you forever and ever and ever".

The fans have extended their warmth and support to Mahesh Babu to stay strong during this tough time. On the acting front, Mahesh Babu will next be seen in Sarkaru Vaari Paata, which is currently in the post production stages. Sarkaru Vaari Paata which is directed by Parasuram Petla of Geetha Govindam fame features Keerthy Suresh as the female lead. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, in association with 14 Reels Plus, the film has music composed by Thaman.
