Bharathiraja is a veteran filmmaker who has been in the film industry for more than four decades. The director made many hit films and also introduced the lyricist Vairamuthu with the film Nizhalgal in 1980. The 82-year-old director has been ill for the past few days and was getting treatment in a private hospital. The lyricist Vairamuthu has met the filmmaker, who is recovering in the hospital, and has dedicated a special song to him. He shared a video from the meeting on his social media handle. It begins with the lyricist telling the director that he looks healthier than when he had met him before and that he has brought a congratulatory Poem dedicated to him and asked the director to hear it out.

The lyricist Vairamuthu then began singing the poem to the tune of the popular song from Kamal Haasan's Nayakan Thenpaandi Cheemaiyila. The song had lyrics about the origin of the director, who hails from a small village in Tamil Nadu, and his love for art and his achievements. The lyricists sang the song for nearly three minutes in the video. The lyricist then shared the video with the caption "Ezhundhu Va Imaiyame," which translates to rise-up popular director. The director thanked the lyricist for his writing, said it gave him a new strength that 100 doctors would not have been able to do. The lyricist then said, "You are a Nayakan too".
