'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan's Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon re-released on June 23 is witnessing housefull shows in theatres across Tamil Nadu. The 2005 blockbuster also starring Jyotika with chart-topping music by Harris Jayaraj and produced by Manickam Narayanan's Seventh Channel Communications was released in a newly remastered version by YMR Creations through the KM Sundaram Pictures banner and has been selling tickets like hotcakes, especially during the weekends. With the re-release of Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu continuing to be the talk of the town, one avid fan took to Twitter to open up the big debate about who is the "best fanboy director" among filmmakers Gautham Menon and Lokesh Kanagaraj.

In his post, the fan commented that he felt Gautham Menon was the best fanboy director of Kamal Haasan after the response to the re-release of Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu while apologizing to Lokesh Kanagaraj. The big surprise came when Lokesh Kanagaraj himself acknowledged the fan's reaction saying that there's absolutely no need for doubt on the matter while declaring that Gautham Menon is indeed the bigger fanboy. However, the debate took a new turn when Gautham Menon too jumped into the conversation saying that he "was" the best fanboy until Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Nayagan meendum varaan' song from his 2022 blockbuster Vikram had come out.

Gautham Menon then added that he's got to try and rise above what Lokesh Kanagaraj has done while stating that it will be a good challenge. The Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu director also chimed in saying that no shirts will be torn in this fight referring to Lokesh Kanagaraj's earlier fun wordplay with actor K. Manikandan during an awards ceremony earlier this year. The Kaithi director then acknowledged Gautham Menon's words and expressed his happiness at the response to Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, while giving a shout-out to Kamal Haasan and signed off with the hashtag #AnbeSivam. It is to be noted that Gautham Menon is currently playing a key role in Lokesh Kanagaraj's upcoming directorial, Leo, starring 'Thalapathy' Vijay, which is slated to open in cinemas worldwide on October 19.
