'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Jailer is all set to take a grand opening in theatres everywhere starting August 10 and promotions for the upcoming film are in top gear. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced under the Sun Pictures banner, the mass action entertainer is currently one of the most-awaited films of the year and is riding high on massive excitement. With expectations shooting up tenfold after the release of an action-packed trailer last week, a new Jailer promo is now out and gives audiences a glimpse at the many fun moments awaiting them in cinemas next week.
This latest Jailer promo shows Rajinikanth in conversation with a person who appears to be a henchman out to threaten him. Upon showing him a knife tucked and hidden under his shirt, we see Tamil cinema's 'Superstar' query him about a wound on his waist and advise him that he could have been careful. This particular aspect among many other fun moments will no doubt be a major highlight in Jailer and gives us an idea about how director Nelson Dilipkumar has once again added his special comic touch, which has been evident throughout the course of his career and the films he has done, and predominantly made under the black comedy genre and also included some dark humor.
Jailer is a big and important venture for both Rajinikanth and Nelson Dilipkumar, who will be looking to ace it this time after each of their previous films, Annaatthe (2021) and Beast (2022), received mixed feedback despite going on to become massive box office successes. The film has a stellar supporting cast starting with Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar and iconic Malayalam actor Mohanlal appearing in cameo roles. Furthermore, Jailer will also see Bollywood star Jackie Shroff, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah, Yogi Babu, Taramani and Rocky actor Vasanth Ravi, Pushpa fame Sunil, and Mirnaa Menon in key roles, while Vinayakan of Mariyan fame is playing the antagonist.
