Prabhas is an actor who became famous across India after he acted in the hit two-part film Baahubali directed by S.S. Rajamouli. The upcoming film of the actor that is set for a Pan-Indian release is titled Adipurush. The mythological drama film is based on the epic Ramayana and the actor is playing the lead role in the film as Raghava. It is also has Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan and Sunny Singh in important roles. The film is helmed by Om Raut and is produced under the banner of T-series. The film is scheduled for a worldwide premiere on June 16 and is also set to be screened at the prestigious Tribeca film festival. Ahead of the release of the film the makers have also released the song Jai Shri Ram.

The song titled Jai Shri Ram has been released in five languages as the movie is set to release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. The video song that has been released features music by Ajay - Atul and has Tamil Lyrics written by G. Muralidharan and is sung by a group of female and male singers. It begin with dialogues that praise the lead Raghava and shows some shots of Krithi Sanon in what looks like Sri Lanka after she was abducted. The song then begins and shows a glimpse of the travel of the lead character to Lanka. It also shows the character of Bajrang in different locations. The video then shows the bridge which is made with stones that float and Raghava and his supporters crossing it. And it shows a glimpse of battle scenes.

When the teaser of the film was first released, it was criticised by many for the VFX quality. Now the visuals shown in the song look stunning and the war-sequences, even the forests have a sense of realism to it. The makers have released the trailer of the film with the caption “Celebrating the victory of good over evil". The film is also set to be release in 3D on June 16.
