Dr. Sailesh Kolanu, who helmed the Hindi remake of HIT - The First Case, had earlier directed the Telugu original, which starred Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma and was produced by actor Nani’s Wall Poster Cinema banner. The Telugu version had released in February 2020 a month before the first big lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic and was well-received among critics and audiences. The film also garnered a cult following after it premiered on Amazon Prime Video, with the team since then also working on a sequel titled HIT: The Second Case. The plot for the HIT - The First Case Hindi remake revolves around a cop played by Rajkummar Rao, who ventures out in search of a woman after she is reported missing under mysterious circumstances.

As for Dil Raju, he is collaborating with Gunaa Teamworks for the Telugu mythological drama film Shaakuntalam, which has leading South Indian actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu and is directed by Gunasekhar. The reputed producer is also gearing up for the release of his rom-com F3 on May 27, a standalone sequel to the 2019 film F2: Fun and Frustration, and will see Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Tamannaah, and Mehreen Pirzada as the lead cast. Dil Raju is also bankrolling the highly-anticipated Tamil film, Thalapathy 66, starring Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna alongside an ensemble supporting cast under Vamshi Paidipally's direction and has been announced for a grand Pongal 2023 release.
