Ajith Kumar's Thunivu is out in cinemas as a grand Pongal treat ahead of the festivities and has taken a spectacular worldwide opening. Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner in association with Zee Studios, the mass action heist entertainer also stars Manju Warrier as the female lead and features music by Ghibran, which incidentally is the hit composer's landmark 50th venture in his career. Currently running to packed houses in cinemas everywhere, Thunivu is the talk of the town and Ghibran recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Galatta to share his experiences of working on the film, while also sharing several interesting details about his first-time collaboration with Ajith, H. Vinoth and Boney Kapoor.
During the interaction, Ghibran revealed how he wanted Ajith to contribute on the vocal front for the 'Gansgtaa' track in Thunivu, which was sung by the music director along with Vaisagh, who also penned the song, including Manju Warrier. He said, "I had no plans to make him sing per se, but I did have the desire to make him speak a few lines. In the 'Gangstaa' song, there's a small portion between the rap and dialogue bit, and I felt it would be nice if (Ajith) sir spoke those words. We had thought about it, but the time required for it to materialize just wasn't enough. Actually, the entire process for the song that we had recorded was in itself quite fast toward the end and when it came to finalizing everything, we couldn't go ahead because I was fully engaged with the mixing and mastering works and the director (H. Vinoth) was in the shooting. However, not to let go of what we had, we took the 'No Guts No Glory' dialogue spoken for the film and placed it in the song."
