Director Gautham Vasudev Menon is quite a happy man with the success of his latest release, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, starring Silambarasan TR in the lead role. Produced by Ishari K Ganesh under the banner of Vels Film International, the film released in theatres on September 15, amidst high expectations and it opened to mixed to positive reviews from the critics and general audience. Following the release of VTK, Galatta Tamil interacted with the star filmmaker to discuss in detail about the film and various other aspects.

During the interaction, Gautham Menon revealed that he has issues with people filming the visuals of his film inside the theatre and sharing the clippings on social media. Today, it has become a ritual for people to click videos of the film that they're watching on-screen and share them on social media. This seems to be a practice that Gautham Menon is not very fond of.

Talking about it, he said, "I have issues with people filming in theatre and putting it out on social media. That's piracy. My film's interval block and Mallipoo video song is shot inside the theatre and are instantly shared on social media. It is all over the internet. We guard a film so carefully and present it to the audience inside a theatre, but the very purpose of the guarding and the theatrical experience is defeated when the visuals are shot on mobile phones. You are in that moment. Enjoy that moment. Or probably take a shot of yourself along with others and say you are enjoying it, but don't capture the screen. You are not even there in the shot, then why? It is like I am coming to your house and taking your pictures and putting out on social media. Don't do that ever".

These words from the celebrated filmmaker indeed tell us that he is pissed and disappointed with this practice.
