The director was rumored to be replacing director Vignesh Shivan in the Lyca production's upcoming venture AK 62 (The title of the film is yet to be revealed). Ever since then, Magizh Thirumeni became a social media sensation. To avoid scams and other unwanted issues, they decided to officially announce the information.

It became his first blockbuster and is regarded as one of Arun Vijay's best films. He then collaborated with Udhayanidhi Stalin and his banner Red Gaint Movies and made Kalaga Thalaivan. The movie also starred Nidhi Agarwal and Arav in important roles and eventually became a massive hit with good reviews from critics and the audience.
