Director Arun Matheswaran who made an impactful debut in Tamil cinema with Rocky is currently gearing up for the release of his next movie, Saani Kaayidham which is set for a direct digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video on May 6. Produced by Screen Scene Entertainment, this film features Keerthy Suresh and Selvaraghavan in the lead roles. The film will be a gritty, violent action drama that will be backed by strong technical finesse. Following Saani Kaayidham, Arun will be teaming up with Dhanush for a mega biggie and the project is tentatively called Captain Miller. The film will be produced by Sathya Jyothi Films on a grand scale.

That being said, Arun shared some interesting tidbits about Captain Miller in his recent interview with Galatta Media. The talented filmmaker clarified that his film is not related to the real-life Captain Miller who is a famous Sri Lankan Tamil rebel, an important member of the LTTE. Talking about the film, he said, "The one with Dhanush is a big film. It has a big budget and it should cater to a larger audience. I can confidently say that there won't be any item song in the Dhanush film because it wouldn't suit my sensibilities. More than writing generic humour, I have my own data-style of using dark humour and that works for me.

The Dhanush film will be a full-on action-adventure film and it will be in a different zone from my other two films. I wouldn't shoot anything that I don't like. Also, the film is not about the Captain Miller of the LTTE. It is not related to LTTE and I can tell you that. It is a fictional character and a fictional story that I have developed". Well, the fans can now be clear about the fact that the Dhanush film is in no way connected with the LTTE rebel. Captain Miller is currently in the pre-production stages and it is expected to go on floors once Dhanush completes his ongoing commitments.
