Two-time National Award winner Dhanush's next big film, Captain Miller, is progressing at a steady pace and is gearing up for a huge release this year. The upcoming film being directed by Arun Matheswaran of Rocky and Saani Kaayidham fame under the prestigious Sathya Jyothi Films banner will feature songs and a background score composed by National Award-winning music director G. V. Prakash Kumar. With a major chunk of production on the Dhanush-starrer already completed and filming set to continue for some more time, GV Prakash sat down with press persons ahead of his 'Aayirathil Oruvan' concert scheduled to take place in Coimbatore on Saturday, May 27, and shed light on the release plans of the much-awaited Captain Miller first single.

During his interaction with the media, a reporter queried GV Prakash about his plans to release any experimental songs he might have composed for the 'Aayirathil Oruvan' concert in Coimbatore. The blockbuster composer informed, "I thought about launching a song, but it's more related to the film's release. Initially, I had thought about releasing the Captain Miller single, but there's a release date for it. Since that's the plan, there's no space for a new single to be launched on this date." Captain Miller incidentally marks the seventh occasion GV Prakash is composing the music for a Dhanush-starrer after Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Mayakkam Enna, Asuran, Maaran, and Vaathi.

GV Prakash revealed a few days back that filmmaker Arunraja Kamaraj, best known for directing Kanaa and Nenjuku Needhi, has sung in Captain Miller after the duo's work in the 'Vaa Asura Vaa' song in Asuran in 2019 went on to become a chart-topping hit. Dhanush will be seen sharing screen space alongside youth sensation Priyanka Arul Mohan in the highly-anticipated film, with the ensemble cast featuring the likes of Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar, Maanagaram star Sundeep Kishan, Merku Thodarchi Malai hero Antony, Sillu Karuppatti actress Nivedhithaa Sathish, Thunivu villain John Kokken, Malayalam actor Moor among others in pivotal roles. Set in the 1930s, Captain Miller is a period action-adventure carrying tremendous buzz ever since the film rolled into production earlier this year and will have its first look unveiled in June, while the teaser will be out in July.
