National Award-winning Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil has completed filming a key schedule for his role in Telugu superstar Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule. Mythri Movie Makers dropped the big update on Thursday, while also sharing a photo of the actor as Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat on the Pushpa 2 sets along with the film's director Sukumar. The blockbuster Telugu film production-distribution banner further stated that Fahadh's character will return with vengeance this time in the upcoming film, with the latest picture showing him sporting a tonsured look akin to his appearance in Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01.

Fahadh's character as the Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat appears only in the latter part of Pushpa: The Rise – Part 01 released in 2021, and showed him locking horns with Allu Arjun toward the end. The first installment turned out to be a phenomenal box office success and currently ranks among the highest-grossing Telugu films of all time. Pushpa 2: The Rule is set to pick up from the events where the first film left off predominantly revolving around Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil, and fans await an explosive big-screen chemistry between the two pan-Indian stars.

Although there has been no formal announcement yet regarding the release date of Pushpa 2: The Rule, expectations are high that the film will be out in cinemas in 2024 after production wraps up. The upcoming sequel featuring music by chart-topping composer Devi Sri Prasad will see Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil reprising their characters alongside youth sensation Rashmika Mandanna, who is returning to play Srivalli, with reports a while back stating that actor Sai Pallavi too will be making an appearance, while Dhanunjay, Rao Ramesh, Suneel, Anasuya Bharadwaj and Ajay Ghosh will be seen in key roles. Pushpa 2 also had an intriguing glimpse released in April on the occasion of Allu Arjun's birthday, which received a staggering response in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi languages.
