Filmmaker Aishwarya Rajinikanth, daughter of 'Superstar' Rajinikanth, filed a police complaint at the Teynampet Police Station, Chennai, on Monday after gold and diamond jewelry worth lakhs were stolen from her residence. The 3 director had named three staff members at her house as prime suspects after which the police launched an investigation. According to reports, the police has now arrested one Easwari aged 40, who was employed as a housemaid at the filmmaker's residence, after investigating her and her husband's bank accounts, which revealed huge transactions being done on a frequent basis. It is being stated that they confessed to stealing Aishwarya Rajinkanth's jewels on a regular basis since 2019 and have been converting them as cash.

Reports further state Aishwarya Rajinikanth had last worn the jewels in 2019 on the occasion of her sister Soundaraya's wedding after which she didn't open her jewelry locker. The keys were then sent to her St. Mary's Road residence, while the vault was shifted to actor Dhanush's Mandaveli house before they parted ways, which was once again moved to Rajinikanth's Poes Garden residence. In her complaint, Aishwarya Rajinikanth had mentioned that the missing valuables included several gold and diamond jewelry accounting to almost 60 sovereigns.

On the work front, Aishwarya Rajinikanth is currently directing Lal Salaam, which stars Vikranth and Vishnu Vishal in the lead roles, and will also see 'Superstar' Rajinikanth appearing in an extended cameo. Featuring music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman, the upcoming film is billed to be a sports drama and is being produced under the Lyca Productions banner. Revolving around the sport of cricket, Lal Salaam was launched in a grand manner in December last year and expectations shot up after it was revealed that Rajinikanth would be making an appearance in a key role.
